Entering Tranquil Cove Resort is entering into a warm, family establishment with a decades-long history. A history of stories about Kodava culture, plantation parties filled with soft jazz and laughter, and the recipes of mothers passed down through generations. At the heart of it is a warm and welcoming family eager to have guests from all walks of life come for a fleeting but unforgettable experience.
Tranquil Cove Resort focusses as much on this unforced ambience of bonhomie as it does on the functioning of the property itself. Having educated the local employees from around the district on recycling water and segregating waste responsibly, there is the crucial element of giving back at every stage of this farmstay’s existence. The owners are (rightfully) happy to share that the water saved from their efforts has not deprived their village neighbours of crucial drinking water in a rain shadow area.
The garden is a guilt-free little paradise that is sustained with recycled water. And the trees are filled with sunbirds. You can even spot the nests of bulbuls hidden in the various curios the family has collected from their own travels. Prepare to be disarmed by all that charm!Region

WHAT TO EAT
Kodava food made by experts that you can smell wafting into the garden to welcome you for a hearty meal. There is also a variety of other dishes that reflect colonial plantation life from the turn of the century, continental food, and freshly brewed coffee every morning. Lunch and dinner is not served at the property.
WHAT TO DO
It’s easy to go and experience the beautiful city of Mysore with its old houses, movie theatres, Mharaja Palace and wide, tree-lined roads. You can also reserve a full Kodava meal at Tranquil Cove Resort where the hosts will come dressed in their traditional finery and provide an evening of lively entertainment.
ABOUT THE PLACE
Four rooms in a low-roof cottage stand side by side and open out into a garden of flowers and dappled sunlight. The rooms are furnished with thoughtfully curated furniture and an eclectic selection of fabrics, rugs and artworks. Double beds and attached bathrooms are in every room, while the garden dining area is just a hop away.
Before the pandemic, the hosts used to entertain friends and guests (those are interchangeable!) in their cozy dining room and organize cooking workshops from their own kitchen. Hopefully, this tradition can be revived somewhere soon. The rooms are air-conditioned, with Wi-Fi and electricity – but those luxuries are offset by the efforts of the hosts to stick to a minimal and low waste lifestyle.
