HOME among the STONES

Short Stay - Kullu (Himachal Pradesh)

About HOME AMONG THE STONES

A couple from Bombay, who relocated to a cleaner and greener sustainable lifestyle in the hills, share their eco conscious boutique homestay with like-minded guests. Set amidst an apple orchard away from the hustle and bustle of Manali, the home was constructed using eco friendly methods and was built by hand, literally. Each brick has been chiseled out of boulders found on location, in turn providing an avenue to the dying art of stone cutting & shaping by hand. There are no paint jobs here, nor any plastering, and the hosts have tried to do their best to also avoid using wood in their construction. The hosts have consciously chosen not to dig a borewell on the property so as to not deplete the groundwater, and also don’t use noise polluting generators. Rest assured, guests can breathe easy and contribute in their own small way to reduce their carbon footprint. What’s more? Open a window and one has views of snow capped peaks and meadows all around. Grab a book and a durrie, find your spot in your own private orchard, and indulge yourself sitting amidst the mighty Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal ranges!
