HOLY WATERS LODGE
Short Stay - Kumaon (Uttarakhand)
About THE HOLY WATERS LODGE
Placed on the Badrinath Highway, the Holy Waters Lodge is a haven set along the river Ganges. A natural swimming pond on the property overlooks the river and requires no chlorine or other chemicals for its maintenance. Instead, aquatic plants filter and oxygenate the pool!
The property also has natural and constructed wetlands around. Fireflies, dragonflies, tiny fish, butterflies and birds, as well as aquatic plants enjoy the pure water created by the wetlands. The water seeps through the soil and trickles down to the river through the porous rock and sand, truly a natural water refuge! Additionally, the water in the bathroom taps is pure mineral water, sweet and free as nature intended it to be. By doing this, the hosts have been truly successful in promoting a natural water table and ecosystem on the property which the locals are educated about too.

ABOUT THE PLACE
Holy Waters Lodge has eight double rooms on the property, all with attached bathrooms and solar-heated water. All the rooms overlook the river and are constructed of rock plastered with mud, using local knowledge and expertise. The traditional construction assures that the rooms stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
The three rooms upstairs have wooden floors and private balconies to laze on. The five rooms downstairs have mud floors and some have a private garden too. All the furniture in the rooms was locally constructed by local carpenters out of a variety of high quality wood such as devdar, teak, sal and shisham.
There is a large hall available for socializing and dining, as well as a small library and a kitchen. The lodge is open all year round, but one can expect different weather conditions during various months of the year. Generally, spring and autumn are the best times to visit the area.
